Fluid Film

I was commissioned to design an outdoor cinema that reflects the colour blue due to the surrounding water based in Craigtoun Country Park in Fife with a colour scheme of the shades of blue, white and silver.
The cinema featured an array of amenities including, a bar with outdoor seating, al fresco screen area with seating, stage area, concession stand with popcorn, a mini indoor cinema and a toilet. Inspired by the parks lakes, Fluid Film creates a serene, open-air film experience shaped by colours and rhythms of water. Shades of blue from Yves Klein blue to Colbalt blue wash across tiered timber seating, while wave-like structures frame the screen and the canopy reflecting the evening light. Sustainable materials, soft rippling pathway lighting, and bubble-like furnishings evoke the environment of a shoreline. Here film, nature, and community gather together, to watch under the stars.
